Visit of the Georgian delegation to Râmnicu Vâlcea

On 27-28 September 2022, by the invitation of His Eminence Varsanufie, Archbishop of Râmnicu Vâlcea, and with the support of the Georgian Embassy in Romania, a Georgian delegation headed by Metropolitan Theodor of Akhaltsikhe and Tao-Klarjeti, Archimandrite Grigol Kurtsidze, priest Saba Gikoshvili, deacon Alexi Kshutashvili, nun Agapia Beshidze, as well as the member of the Georgian Parliament, Mr. Anton Obolashvili, and members of the Children's Folklore Ensemble "Irmisa" from Akhaltsikhe, visited Romania.

On the 27th of September, on the day of commemoration of St. Anthim the Iberian by the Romanian Orthodox Church, the Georgian clergy took part in the Holy Liturgy, that took place in the Cathedral of  Râmnicu Vâlcea. 

After the liturgy, members of the "Irmisa" ensemble performed Georgian songs and on the same evening, gave a concert in the Archdiocesan building. The Georgian delegation visited the Cozia and Govora monasteries, where the frescoes of St. Anthim the Iberian are preserved.
The next day, the Georgian delegation left for Bucharest where they visited Anthim Monastery, the Patriarchal Cathedral, and Radu Voda Monastery, where members of the children's ensemble performed Georgian church songs. The choir was very well received by the Romanian audience.
